Council Elections 2021
Closing date: Friday 9th April 2021 - we are no longer accepting applications
With some of our members of Council coming to the end of their tenure we have several places available for new member to join BADS Council.
We are looking for enthusiastic clinicians from all areas of the multidisciplinary day surgery team (including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, operating department practitioners, healthcare assistants and other allied healthcare professionals) of all levels of experience who have a passion for promoting and driving forward day surgery at a national level and BADS as an organisation.
Before Covid we met every 2 months in London as well as taking part in the annual conference and other activities throughout the year. We currently have a virtual Council meeting every month (2-3 hours) but when Covid allows we would hope to restart some face to face meetings.
As a Council member you would be expected to participate in one of the many roles within Council such as conference committee, website team or development of publications etc. You would be well supported by other Council members as you become familiar with the responsibilities of the role.
Closing date: Friday 9th April 2021 - we are no longer accepting applications for this role.
A full job description for a Council member can be found below:
If there are fewer or equal applications for the number of vacancies then upon agreement by BADS Council, you will be offered an appointment to Council. In the event that there are more applications than vacancies there will be a vote undertaken by the BADS members to select the successful candidates. This will be done based on your submitted biography only - you will not be required to make any candidate speeches. Successful new members will start their Council tenure in September 2021.
