The British Association of Day Surgery is very pleased to announce the opening of abstract submission for the BADS Annual Conference 2024.
Abstracts Invited
We have arranged an interesting and varied programme of topics related to day surgery practice, including sessions on sustainability, caring for elderly patients, and emerging technology in day surgery. Workshop sessions will be held on fostering psychological safety in the workplace, understanding and making the best use of data, and an update on the Right Procedure Right Place programme with an example of this in action from a Scottish trust. Accepted abstracts will be presented in free paper oral presentation sessions and a poster exhibition. The conference offers you the chance to hear from a number of expert speakers and to present your work to a national audience.
Abstracts are invited on any aspect of surgery or peri-operative care relevant to day-case surgery including case-reports, audits, original research, systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Abstracts in the fields of ambulatory emergency surgery and planned (elective) surgery are welcomed.
Abstracts will be peer-reviewed by a minimum of three reviewers. Those awarded high scores will be chosen for presentation (oral or poster). The highest scoring abstracts will be selected for oral presentation with a prize for the best presentation on the day. All presented abstracts (oral or poster) will be published in abstract form in the Journal of One-Day Surgery.
