I am an Anaesthetist with a deep commitment to transforming perioperative care and making day surgery safer, more efficient, and more accessible for all patients. I have a postgraduate degree in Geriatrics and Gerontology from the UN centre for Ageing and advocate for this group of patients. I have been an active member of the British Association of Day Surgery (BADS) since 2016, where I first presented my poster on reducing cancellations – this sparked my passion for optimising the patient journey.
I have been mentored by Dr. Rachel Tibble, and grown my expertise in preoperative optimisation of high risk patients for day surgery. I am keen to integrate community support services to enhance patient outcomes. I am  currently piloting an innovative project designed to ensure patients can safely access and recover from day surgery by leveraging local resources both pre- and post-operatively.
Beyond the hospital walls, I am a committed community activist, working tirelessly to bridge the gap between healthcare providers and the communities they serve. I hope to bring this angle to the council and the association and see this replicated nationally.
