I am a consultant anaesthetist , based in London at St Georges Hospital since 2013.I am the Clinical Lead for Day surgery and my team has incorporated short acting spinals , day case mastectomies , laryngeal and mastoid surgery into ambulatory pathways , Ambulatory emergency surgery and are looking to expand to other complex surgeries notably laparoscopic hysterectomies and thyroid surgery.
I have a specialist interest in Vascular anaesthesia , regional anaesthesia and preoperative assessment and optimization of high risk patients
I set up the perioperative IV iron clinic locally as part of preoptimization pathways and have co- authored national guidance on preoperative management of antiplatelets.
I am looking to explore patient information and innovative ways of follow up of patients to ensure confidence in the day surgery pathway .
Outside of work I am trained in Indian classical dance and enjoy badminton and skiing.
