The British Association of Day Surgery is very pleased to announce the opening of abstract submission for the BADS Annual Conference 2026.
Abstracts Invited
We have arranged an interesting and varied programme of topics related to day surgery practice, including sessions on frailty, special patient circumstances, regional anaesthetic techniques, no one at home policies, procedure room operating, thromboembolism prophylaxis, day case robotics, awake shoulder surgery and high-throughput urology surgery. Workshop sessions will be held on patient preparation, post-operative pathways / criteria-led discharge and digitalisation in day surgery pathways.
The first day will finish with an evening networking drinks reception at the conference venue.
Accepted abstracts will be presented in free paper oral presentation sessions and a poster exhibition. The conference offers you the chance to hear from a number of expert speakers and to present your work to a national audience.
Abstracts are invited on any aspect of surgery or peri-operative care relevant to day-case surgery including case-reports, audits, original research, systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Abstracts in the fields of ambulatory emergency surgery and planned (elective) surgery are welcomed.
Abstracts will be peer-reviewed by a minimum of three reviewers. The highest scoring abstracts will be selected for oral free paper presentation with the top six scoring abstracts completing for a cash prize. Remaining accepted abstracts will be presented in poster format (printed A1 size).
