Right Procedure Right Place is a workstream under the NHSE / GIRFT National Theatre Programme. Its aims are to support providers to move appropriate local anaesthetic procedures down the gradient of care and out of a theatre environment.
Katy McErlain and Claire Ogley will briefly summarise how we established the programme, the pilots, the outcomes and next steps. We will then hear from two Trusts who have successfully moved LA procedures out of theatres.
Rudraprasad Baidyaray will share experience of WALANT surgery as part of this programme. The programme not only reduces waiting lists, provides financial benefit to the hospital trust and significantly improves patient experience. There is ample scope to expand it further.
